Graduate Testimonials

A couple of previous graduating classes!

How would you like to have hands on help and guidance from a professional Dog Trainer for the first few months of your pup’s home life? Not only that, but how would you like to also like to cover 2x as much learning and development as would normally be offered through a traditional 6-session puppy course? With Perfect Pups, you have the opportunity to access as much training as you could possibly want, with 8x weekly sessions included in the course, and Toby’s Training Club sessions open to all attendees (Toby’s Training Club sessions to be booked separately).

This course will cover:

  • The foundations - core behaviours such as: Sit, Stay, Recall, Loose Lead Walking, and more!

  • Key information - Toilet training, jumping up, confidence, socialisation, chewing/mouthing, life-stages, and more!

  • Healthy, happy puppy - introduction to handling, playing, and scentwork for fun!

  • Puppy problem-solving - got concerns, questions, or queries? That’s what I’m here for! Each session is open to Q&A; whatever the worry, simply ask in-class, during the break, or even after class. This is a judgement-free zone, and I’m always here to help!

  • Trainer talks - scheduled in throughout the course will be some short, informative talks on essential topics such as dog law, canine body language, and adolescence!

This course will provide you with:

  • A Week 1 welcome pack containing some handy freebies!

  • Take-home information packs on core topics

  • A handy home habits chart for tracking your puppy’s activities and troubleshooting common issues

  • Video content for taught exercises to help you with practise at home (plus bonus content on top of what we’ll cover together!)

  • A direct link to your trainer (me!) with the opportunity to contact me at any time for advice, support, and recommendations

  • Access to a private facebook group for your course group, where we will be sharing progress, homework reminders, and homework helper content

  • Access to the Perfect Pups Alumni Group after graduation

  • Practice, experience, & confidence in your new training skills

Dates & Times:

Classes run from 6-7pm on Mondays. Dates for this run of the course are as follows:

Pricing

Perfect Pups (8 Session Course) = £175. This total is payable upfront at time of booking.

Optional bolt-ons include the Puppy Prep Package (+£50) which allows you to book 1x home visit session (60 minutes) before the course starts, in which we can meet, get any immediate questions answered or home issues resolved, and to get you feeling prepared and ready for your first night of puppy classes.

Perfect Pups attendees are also very welcome to join in with my weekly all-ages training classes which run on Fridays - please check out the current Toby’s Training Club event page for full details on these classes and how to add these bookings. Toby’s Training Club sessions can be booked individually for maximum flexibility!

Venues

Perfect Pups takes place at St Mark’s Church Hall, Purley - the full address can be found below:

Travel

There is plenty of parking available on-site in the Church car park.

The nearest bus stop is ‘The Bridle Road’ on Foxley Lane, which is serviced by the 127 and 612 buses.

The nearest train station is Purley, which is a 20 minute walk, or 4 stops on the 127 bus.

What you’ll need to bring to class

  • Treats (and plenty of them!) - ideally a few different options for your pup to mix things up as required, particularly as some forms of treat may be better suited to some exercises than others.

  • Collar, fixed-length lead (non-extendible), and harness - all of these should of course be on and attached to your puppy during class! If you’re unsure about harnesses (or any of these items) at all, please feel free to get in touch for advice on what type to choose, sizing, and anything else you may need.

  • A blanket or mat from home - bringing this to class will help them to settle a little right away.

  • Poo bags - there’s a lovely outdoor space attached to the Scout Hut, and we’ll be making regular use of it for toilet breaks as well as some outdoor training activities. Please ensure that you have some bags with you so that we can keep the outdoor area cleaned up as we go!

  • Something to keep them occupied during talks and downtime - this could be a chew, stuffed kong, lickmat etc…

  • (1st session only) Your pup’s vaccination records to date. (a photograph/screenshot/photocopy is fine!) Puppies must have received both sets of vaccinations in order to attend.

  • A small water bowl & some water - there will be communal bowls provided, however this helps to keep your pup’s water clean!

  • Your puppy!

  • Any questions you might have about anything at all - what’s going on at home, any issues or concerns, health and wellbeing, feeding, play, walking, equipment, puppy admin, anything at all!

Who can attend?

Dogs

There is no upper age limit on puppies, and even older dogs in need of ‘basic’ training are welcome - if you have any queries about this, please do get in touch and I’d be happy to talk through the course and whether you’d be best suited to attending a full course or 1:1 training.

Puppies MUST have completed their full course of vaccinations (including the recommended post-jab period) prior to attending the course - proof of this will be required in session 1, so please do bear this in mind when booking your place.

If your dog has any special requirements or circumstances (eg. visual or hearing impairment, physical disability, ongoing medical condition etc.) please let me know at the earliest possible time, and I will make adjustments in order to accommodate you. If you’re at all concerned about the suitability of this course for your puppy based on any of these criteria, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me to discuss!

Handlers

Everyone is welcome to attend, and full-family engagement is encouraged! That being said, to ensure that everyone has plenty of space across both venues, I do ask that groups be kept to 3 maximum.

Please note that anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and that an adult member of your party must assume responsibility for the handling and safety of your puppy at all times.

Unfortunately, although there is a ramp leading into the part of St. Mark’s we use for classes, there is a small step at the threshold of the door, meaning that the hall may not be accessible for all types of wheelchair or other mobility aids such as scooters. This hall also does not include an accessible bathroom. If you would like to discuss accessibility in more detail please don’t hesitate to reach out, and I will be more than happy to provide more information and liaise with the Church Warden about accessing facilities inside the main church if required.
